Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) in improving the economic performance of the trade and industry sector in the Sultanate of Oman, focusing on how to apply quality principles to enhance efficiency and productivity. Considering the economic and competitive challenges facing the sector, the study seeks to provide practical recommendations that contribute to supporting sustainable economic growth and enhancing competitiveness. By analyzing the impact of TQM on economic performance, the study aims to achieve a set of objectives that can serve as a reference for specialists in economics and management, as well as policymakers in the Sultanate of Oman. Key findings include a significant improvement in the industrial GDP growth rate, an increase in the percentage of industrial exports, and a rise in the number of companies implementing TQM. The study results also showed that implementing TQM contributes to improving product quality and increasing customer satisfaction, which enhances the competitiveness of Omani institutions in local and international markets. The study concluded that Total Quality Management (TQM) has become a strategic tool for achieving sustainable economic growth, which is consistent with the objectives of the Oman 2040 Plan.
