Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the quality of oil institutions and the achievement of sustainable development in Oman, with a focus on the role of these institutions in supporting the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The study was conducted during the period from 2020 to 2024, a time marked by significant economic challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and oil price fluctuations, alongside national efforts to achieve the vision. The study found that the quality of oil institutions plays a pivotal role in achieving sustainable development, contributing to reducing dependence on oil and increasing investments in renewable energy. The results also showed a decline in carbon emissions and improvements in economic and environmental performance. The study recommended enhancing transparency and good governance in oil institutions, as well as increasing investments in non-oil sectors such as tourism and industry, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040
